Alexander Millar - Wash Day

Working Man - Museum Collection
As a wee nipper growing up in a small mining village in the west coast of Scotland my days were spent outside whatever the weather playing football, raiding orchards or other general mischief but it was all play none the less. You can bet your bottom dollar that even when mum’s washing was hung out to dry we’d still be at it playing to our hearts content usually at the cost of mums clean sheets.
